John 8:32 – Knowing the truth makes a man free.
John 8:36 – Jesus makes a man free indeed.

What is the truth exactly?

Jesus is the Truth – John 14:6
The truth is in the Gospel – Colossians 1:5-6

What is the Gospel?

“…Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures …he was buried …and he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4

What you need to know with that verse…

* There is a Judgment Day – Hebrews 9:27, Romans 14:12

* In God’s eyes all mankind is guilty of sin – Romans 3:10-23
…Sin is disobeying God’s Law – 1 John 3:4, James 2:10

* How are you doing as far as observing God’s Law in light of what Jesus said? – Matthew 5:21-28

* All found guilty on Judgment Day will spend eternity in Hell – Revelation 21:8, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
…because death (in hell) is the eternal penalty for sin (a crime) against a Holy, eternal God – Romans 6:23a

* BUT … because of God’s great love for us, eternal life is made available as a gift through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 6:23b

* How? … Jesus Christ, God’s Son, suffered and died in our place, shedding His precious blood for the forgiveness of our sins (Hebrews 9:22), upon the cross at Calvary; He was buried in a tomb (Matthew 12:39-40); and then He rose again three days later, so that we could be justified (made right) before the presence of God – 1 Peter 2:24, 3:18; 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 4:25
…We deserve God’s wrath, but His wrath in reality came upon His own Son on the cross, so that we may not experience it – John 3:36, Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 5:9, 1 Thessalonians 1:10

* God commands all people everywhere to repent (turn away from sin and turn toward God) – Acts 17:30

* Jesus preached for all to repent and believe the Gospel – Mark 1:15


Pray in repentance toward God and faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved by God’s abundant grace and according to His rich mercy – Romans 10:9-10, 13; Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:3-7. * Knowing God & His Son, Jesus Christ, is eternal life – John 17:1-3
